I’m a bit of a maths nerd and have taught enough to know that without measurement, maths tells you nothing about the world. Too much economic debate now skips that step, hiding behind clever-sounding equations. What we get sounds serious, but doesn’t connect to the real economy and everyday people. As an educator, my priority on the council will be to remove the things getting in the way of you taking part in decisions. Not just because it’s good democracy, but because it’s good economics too.
