Redbridge Council has installed a new yellow box junction at the corner of High Road and Chelmsford Road.
It follows a series of traffic surveys across the borough which identified junctions that are regularly obstructed. “Yellow box markings are designed to keep junctions clear, prevent congestion and keep traffic moving,” said a council spokesperson. Drivers who breach yellow box junction rules face a £160 fine, reduced to £80 if paid within 14 days. A public consultation on the proposals took place in September.
